Ignite Programme Launch Night

Access Sport launched the second phase of their disability sport Ignite Programme at Ashton Gate Stadium. Guests enjoyed a taster session of wheelchair rugby delivered by GB Wheelchair Rugby and Bristol Rugby, partners with Access Sport developing the first community disability and wheelchair rugby club in Bristol. Paralympic medal winning sprinter Ben Rushgrove also spoke about his experiences in sport. Tim Jones chairman of Access Sport and general counsel for the Rugby World Cup 2015 hosted and guests also heard from a young club leader which was hugely inspiring.

Guests also got the chance to try the game Boccia and learn more about the Ignite Programme.

Bringing many people together from disability organisations, local county councils, the county sport partnership, parents, club leaders, businesses and national governing bodies it was a fantastic opportunity to network and build towards Access Sport’s vision of developing Bristol into a leading city for disability sport.

The event was also featured through an interview with Ben Rushgrove, Access Sport ambassador on BBC Points West.
