A Warm Welcome

17/03/2015 - Bob Hill

Welcome to a brand new website devoted to inclusive sport in the West of England sub-region.

This is our first blog entry, so let’s cut to the chase and answer some of those all-important questions you may have about the Sports Rush website.

“So, what’s all this about…?”

Sports Rush is an online hub for anyone involved or interested in inclusive sport. It covers Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset to bring you all the local opportunities for disabled people to take up sport. The name 'Sports Rush' denotes the rush of sport and is an acknowledgement of the leading role of Ben Rushgrove - London 2012 Paralympic medallist - in putting the website together.

“Okay, but who are you?"

We are a West of England Inclusive Sport Partnership, represented by the unitary authorities mentioned above. Our aim is to raise the profile of inclusive sport and increase the range and quality of opportunities for disabled people wishing to play, coach or coordinate inclusive physical activity and sport.

“Why is this website needed?”

We think it offers something unique for our area, which will bring lots of sporting opportunities together in one place. We know that the majority of disabled people who search for sporting opportunities do so online.

“How do I get started?”

On the Homepage you’ll see a club directory. Input your post code and search for a sport in your area. Why not give it a go now? We also have a coaching zone, newsletters, local venues, funding options and a community events section. You can be notified of any updates by signing up to this blog!

Hopefully this answers all your questions, but if not, ask us! We’d love to know what you think of the website too, so please get in touch via our contact page.
